Rehearsal bases and their equipment
Rehearsal bases are designed specifically for groups seeking to improve their skills, to hone the sound of their instruments. The area of the room, as a rule, is not too large, because the reproduced sound should be juicy, the hays should reflect it, creating various sound effects. The division of the room into two working bays makes it possible not only to play the melody repeatedly, but also, relying on the operator’s room equipment, to record it and listen to it at home in order to identify mistakes. The walls of the recording studio are covered with special material, as well as the ceiling and the floor.
The equipment provided by the rehearsal facility must necessarily include a loudspeaker system. They differ not only in appearance, but also in parameters, a mixer to help in processing, guitar combos, a drum kit, complete, as a rule, with a pedal, bass drum, outboard and floor toms, crash, hi-hat, rider. The owner also provides racks for rehearsals – vocal and keyboards, microphones, switching facilities. The latter should allow you to connect all the equipment used. Some of the equipment can be brought with you and set up for the rehearsal. The specialists working in the studio will help you to connect the necessary equipment and start the rehearsal.
Since the speakers differ from each other, let’s dwell on the description of the three-way system. The three speakers used are capable of reproducing the middle, high and low frequencies, and in most cases are characterized by amplitude-frequency parameters, which allow you to determine the correct playback and sound of the melody. The sound produced by a system with a driver will have a high midrange density, while the use of a tweeter will allow it to be somewhat diffused.
Sufficient midrange density will compensate for the low volume of the lower frequencies, resulting in a quality sound. A two-way speaker system, if equipped with a driver, will allow you to get bright midrange, powerful vocals, and rich rhythm guitar.
Having a subwoofer or a speaker system that includes one or more bass drivers will allow for a powerful low-frequency sound. This is important because most of the power is concentrated in the low frequency range. In spite of the complexity of the sound system setup, if a subwoofer is available, the sound quality will increase many times over, and the sound engineer will provide the necessary assistance in its setup.
