I have spilled endless amounts of (proverbial) ink decrying my deep and passionate love for Murder By Death, and already have some (literal) ink planned to just hammer that love home. It’s crazy to think that I have been listening to this band for 15 years. To commemorate their TWENTIETH year of being an active, touring band, Murder by Death have embarked on a 20th anniversary tour, which promises to hear some deep cuts from their stellar oeuvre.

When I first discovered them I was a freshmen in highschool, working my summer job at a holistic pet food store. We didn’t get many customers, so to pass the time (rather than memorize ingredients to various pet food brands as I was SUPPOSED to be doing), I spent most of my days listening to In Bocca Al Lupo on repeat, basking in the dusty atmosphere of the record from the dark back room of the shop. In the years since I have seen them more than any other band, even traveling to Estes Park, CO for one of their annual New Years residencies at the Stanley Hotel and seeing them at Pappy and Harriets in Pioneertown.

If you’re any kind of fan of theirs, of independent music, music in general, or even just need a place to go for (or to avoid) valentines day, get your tickets NOW.
