A sleeping giant arises: the eclectic and enigmatic Japanese rock/electronic producer Cornelius, who released the universally-praised album Fantasma twenty years ago, returned after an eleven-year absence with the release of last year’s sleekly modern Mellow Waves, and he’s announced that he will be going on tour in select U.S. cities to support it, including Los Angeles at The Fonda Theatre on March 20th.

Though he’s been fairly busy behind the scenes working with the likes of MGMT, Edgar Wright, and the Yellow Magic Orchestra, he’s back with his own band to tour for his solo efforts. This is supposedly a rare occasion for the multi-instrumentalist (whose real name is Keigo Oyamada) to be out here on the West Coast, so you might want to place this set on your list of priorities next week.
