One of the most wonderful things about living in Los Angeles is the ample opportunity to see young, up-and-coming musical acts on any day of the week.

A few months ago, I had the joy of seeing Chandler Juliet play at the famed Troubadour. With her sultry persona and catchy melodies, this emerging singer-songwriter is definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Born to jazz trombonist Bob McChesney and jazz singer/violinist Calabria Foti, Chandler began writing original songs on her mother’s old guitar at the age of 9.

Starting to write so early clearly has its merits – “Speechless,” the first single off Chandler’s forthcoming EP, 7 Minutes in Heaven, is a polished, attention grabbing, and confident first release. The song was nominated for three 2017 Indie Music Channel Awards. It took home the award for Best Pop Recording.

The developing songstress is currently working on building her personal business team, while already collaborating with some big names, including: producer/songwriter Dean Dinning (Toad the Wet Sprocket) and producer Mikal Blue (Colbie Callait, OneRepublic). She is also writing songs with co-founding member of OneRepublic, Tim Myers, and publishing company, Zync Music.

7 Minutes in Heaven will debut later this year. I’m looking forward to seeing what she hits us with next!
