One certainly can’t accuse The Flaming Lips of getting tamer with age. The group’s 16th (!) album, Oczy Mlody, is out today (which also happens to be frontman Wayne Coyne’s birthday), and the LP continues to further explore the depths of the experimental rock band’s commitment to mind-expanding, drifting sonic tendencies.

Oczy Mlody tends to move at a slow and psychedelic pace, which, again, should be of no big surprise to those who have been fans of the band’s previous works. Past collaborator Miley Cyrus returns to the fold again, duetting with Coyne on album closer “We a Family.”

The band will be touring to promote the record both overseas and here in the States this spring. No Los Angeles dates have been announced at this time, but we’ll keep you posted.
