Sometimes it runs in the family. That’s probably the best way to describe the music of Ronald Bruner Jr., drummer and brother of Thundercat (the modern world’s most popular bassist). With the announcement of his debut album, Triumph, the GRAMMY Award-winning composer, producer, singer, and drummer is poised to unleash his brand of deep fusion, soul, R&B, jazz, and pop on the world.

Stephen “Thundercat” Bruner and Jameel Bruner of The Internet were both heavily involved in the recording and writing of Triumph, and the record’s first single, “Take the Time,” features the former on vocals and bass. But Thundercat isn’t the only guest who is gracing the project. The late and great George Duke also makes an appearance, as does Mac Miller and core members of the West Coast Getdown.

Triumph will be available on March 3 via World Galaxy/Alpha Pup Records.
