It’s hard not to admire Emo Nite’s ingenuity and determination. In the last two years, the people behind the regular event have spun a nostalgia-based DJ guest session into a minor empire. Their two-year anniversary is coming up on December 6th, and there’s a lot one might expect from such an occasion.
Though Emo Nite has not gone without its fair share of critiques, one thing, at least, is undeniable: they have managed to attract a large number of golden-era-emo artists to play for their various events, including Dashboard Confessional, The Used, The Movielife, Good Charlotte, and members of everyone from obvious picks like Blink-182 and My Chemical Romance to deeper cuts like The Starting Line and Chiodos.
Outside of the newly reformed Taste of Chaos, that impressive roster is hard to beat.
I imagine that the two-year anniversary celebration will be an occasion that anyone who grew up in the 2000s would be sad to miss (see what I did there?).
