It’s been three years since Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, released his GRAMMY-nominated album, Because the Internet. Since then, he’s been quite busy flexing his multitudinous talents. He released a mixtape (STN MTN) and an EP (Kauai) in 2014, and this year, he created and starred in the critically acclaimed FX show Atlanta, which has already been renewed for a second season.

Fans have been speculating about the release of a new full-length Gambino album since he debuted new music at his Pharos Experience show in Joshua Tree, CA this past September. Earlier this week, rumors swirled after a schedule from an FYE music store marking his album’s release date as December 2nd made its way around the internet.

Well, it looks like the rumors have been put to rest. Last night, Gambino confirmed the news of a new LP by tweeting the album artwork. Does it look familiar? I thought so, too. The stunning portrait was displayed on a mantle in the “Juneteenth” episode of Atlanta — a now realized subtle wink from Gambino.

While it’s still unconfirmed whether the release date is actually December 2nd, I’ll be crossing my fingers with the rest of his fans that Awaken, My Love will, at least, be released sometime soon. ‘Til then, give a listen to album track “Me and Your Mama” below.
