9/17 UPDATE Congratulations to our winners Lauri Infante-Aguilar, Fernando Islas, Eric Peterson, Justin Davila, & Gabriel Lee, and a big THANK YOU to everyone who entered!

Though the weather in LA offers no indication that summer is coming to an end very soon, the dwindling number of outdoor movie screenings speaks to the fact that it’s time to power through the rest of that summer bucket list. And what better way to consummate another season of camping, hiking, and music fests than with Eat|See|Hear’s second-to-last event of the year?

This summer, Eat|See|Hear continued its annual outdoor movie screening and concert series, with each event featuring a performance by a local LA act followed by the projection of an iconic film. This weekend’s event will pay tribute to the late, great, and universally beloved Prince with a showing of Purple Rain preceded by a set from alt-soul artist VOKES at Santa Monica High School.

VOKES is a sort of Renaissance man of music. Miami-born artist Mike Harris is a producer, multi-instrumentalist, and singer-songwriter who released his debut EP, Fractalism, just last month. The newcomer has demonstrated an incredibly valiant first effort, fusing his passion for R&B, soul, dance, and electronica into a smooth and hypnotic six-track album that will make for a cool, low-key summer night show.
