Both Elvis Depressedly and Teen Suicide have grown accustomed to LA crowds. They’re aware of exactly what to poke fun at throughout the set and don’t take much too seriously.
Teen Suicide’s Sam Ray mumbled that he only wanted to be back-lit and stumbled through talking about his wife, managers, and the people who are laughing or lightly heckling. During Elvis Depressedly’s set, there is mention of Han Solo and Baja Blast between songs. The whole show gives off a sensation of realist literature or prose that I find myself unable to stop reading.
Sam’s request to have only back-lighting had me focusing more on capturing the stark light and color that flooded to the crowd with the silhouetted harsh movements of the band. Check out my photos from the night, and be sure to let me know your favorite moments in the comments!
