After a successful Kickstarter campaign, Los Angeles-based rock group Fyke is gearing up to share their “Favorite Mistake” and take the world by storm.

The trio of Enik Lin (known for his work in the electronica duo IAMMEDIC), Abraham Kim, and Steven Delman released the video for their song “Awake” last October, and after crowdsourcing $5,771 with 78 backers (blowing by their $3,000 goal), Fyke is on schedule to release their new single, “Favorite Mistake,” this October.

If you (much like I was) are wondering where the name Fyke came from, the group chose the name with the image of a fishing fyke in mind — an inspiration for the idea of catching as many fans as they could with their music.

Fans of Paramore, Weezer, Sleeping with Sirens, or Empire of the Sun will want to be sure to keep an eye on Fyke and buy their single “Awake” on iTunes. If you missed a chance to donate to their Kickstarter campaign, don’t worry — their new album and music video come out later this year!
