In the mood for some dreamy music to chill you out ahead of the weekend? Good, because I have an exclusive new listen for you from an indie-pop favorite of mine: “Talk About Us.” feat. Jayme Dee by The TVC.

I was first introduced to singer Jayme through her recording of the song “Rules” when it was featured in the young adult phenomenon The Hunger Games, after which “Rules” skyrocketed up the US charts. I hadn’t really heard much from her since then, but now she has has teamed up with producer Spencer Riley for this fresh new tune.

The TVC is Riley’s solo indie-pop pet project, and “Talk About Us” is the title track from the project’s forthcoming EP. It embodies the vision of Riley as the collaborative track features amazing and fresh male and female vocals. Electronic vibes are balanced by cool guitar tones, processed drums, and a choral repetition that reminds me of a personal indie-pop favorite, “Parachute” by Ingrid Michaelson.

The TVC has that quality that all indie-pop groups strive for: the ability to emote serious lyrics while still keeping a upbeat and carefree sound. Check out the new song and be on the lookout for the new EP!
