Normally when I set out to write a giveaway, it’s from LA Music Blog directly and I’m excited because I know my writing is building a bridge between fans and the artists they love. However, growing up I took the message from Pay It Forward very seriously, and so every once in a while I catch wind of a contest that’s too good to not share with our readers (even if we can’t be the ones to provide the prize ourselves).

That’s why I have to tell you about this contest that is being put on by The Chainsmokers and BKSTG. They’re teaming up to offer fans of the American DJ duo an unforgettable experience: “Get Closer with The Chainsmokers.” Not only will the winners of this contest get to see one of my favorite artists live, they will also get a chance to fly across the country to see not one but TWO additional shows!

Six worthy fans will have an unforgettable experience with The Chainsmokers. On Saturday, May 21st, The Chainsmokers will be playing InfieldFest at the Preakness in Baltimore, Maryland, then hopping on a plane and traveling cross-country to Las Vegas to play the opening weekend party at Jewel Nightclub at Aria Resort & Casino.

The lucky winners will attend both events and fly private with The Chainsmokers between the two venues, getting hours of face time with their favorite artists and two amazing concerts. To enter, fans can simply post a video, share a pic, link an emoji, or whatever they want in The Chainsmokers’ community page on the Bkstg app using the hashtag #Jetwiththechainsmokers by tomorrow, May 12th. Complete details on the contest are provided on The Chainsmokers page on the Bkstg app.

“This contest is awesome for so many reasons. Mostly because we usually fly coach ourselves, so this is gonna be a really fun trip for just that reason alone. Now we get to throw some really creative fans into the mix and come in super hot to Vegas for the grand opening of a new club after playing infant of 120,000 person Preakness show. We don’t know about anyone else but this has savage written all over! We gonna have Dj Khaled ‘All I Do Is Win’ on repeat for the entire 5 hour flight.”

I can’t even begin to imagine what would happen on that flight! I picture bottles popping, a massive dance party, and a very intense game of Monopoly all on the same flight (I obviously don’t know what artists do when they fly, but that’s just what I imagine/hope).

I see pictures of Diplo, Skrillex, Zedd, and Dillon Francis flying together, and I’ve always wondered what it’d be like to be a fly on the wall in those planes. Is it a massive air party? Are they exhausted from playing non-stop shows and have a cuddle party with matching onesies and snuggies?

Hopefully one of the six winners of The Chainsmokers contest will be able to answer these burning life questions of mine because it’s something that I really want to know!

While I think there’s a good chance that if you’ve turned on the radio any time recently you have heard The Chainsmokers’ music, let me tell you a little about why they are one of my favorite artists anyways:

If you’ve never seen The Chainsmokers perform live, then I suggest you run to Bkstg because between their wild stage antics and hilarious personalities, free admission to those two shows alone are worth entering for. Their signature sound has its foundations in indie, progressive, and pop music, which is why it is almost impossible to not dance along when one of their songs comes on.

It could also be why all of their videos get MILLIONS of views. Their first major release, “#SELFIE,” and its official music video received over 410M views, followed by “Kanye,” “Let You Go,” and “Roses.” The official “Roses” videos have now surpassed 51M combined VEVO/YouTube views, with the song garnering over 5M+ weekly US Spotify streams.

With their latest single, “Don’t Let Me Down” feat. Daya, the duo has notched their third top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs list, drawing 2.6 million US streams in its first week, and the official video, which has been live for about a week, already has almost 11M views!

The Chainsmokers started 2016 off with the Tilt Tour, which has been hailed as the first-ever fan-sourced tour. I can tell you from personal experience that their Coachella debut was one of the best live dance/electronic sets of the the weekend, so be sure to enter this contest for your chance to catch The Chainsmokers live (and maybe get the opportunity to flip a Monopoly table from first class!).
