One of last year’s most unlikely feel-good stories revolved around Polish death metal stalwarts Behemoth. Their vocalist, Nergal, was diagnosed with leukemia back in 2010 and faced something far more serious than the demise of his band. Not only was his treatment successful, but the “new lease on life” cliché was manifested in The Satanist, the band’s epic comeback and one of last year’s best albums (as long as you have a taste for the very heavy stuff).

Now the band’s long history has been lovingly compiled into a 490-page hardcover book with the excellent title Behemoth: Devil’s Conquistadors. It’ll be released next month via Metal Blade Records and promises to be the kind of exhaustive band biography that long-time fans dream of. Pre-orders for the book are available now and include that snazzy t-shirt you can see above as an exclusive.

All this is in advance of Behemoth’s visit to the Santa Ana Observatory next week (Saturday, February 7th) where they will be supported by fellow veterans Cannibal Corpse. It’ll be loud. Tickets are available now.
