At this point, can anyone deny the fact that 2014 has clearly been the Year of the Jewel Runner? Killer Mike and El-P’s hip-hop supergroup has far surpassed anyone’s wildest expectations this year and blossomed into a full-blown Real Deal.

They released a critically acclaimed follow-up to their debut record (landing the #2 spot on our Top 50 Albums of 2014 list), just wrapped a tour that saw the duo selling out venues across the country (including a gig at the Echoplex that featured special guests Zack De La Rocha, Travis Barker, and Gangsta Boo), successfully funded a bizarre, fan-organized Kickstarter for a cat-themed remix project, and they’re about to embark on an international tour of Europe before the year is done.

But before they hop on that flight, Run the Jewels has shared a new music video for “Oh My Darling (Don’t Cry)” off of RTJ2. It’s not exactly a high-concept clip, but it captures the essence of what the RTJ movement is all about — two men who are riding the wave of a resurgence in both of their 15+ year careers, rapping their asses off. When a song is bolstered by hard-hitting El-P production and this caliber of verbal gymnastics (and a vocal cameo from Police Academy star Michael Winslow), you don’t really need much else.
