Bear In Heaven is the kind of band that makes you question your place in reality. Their newest album, Time is Over One Day Old, is probably their most grounded release, but don’t worry — it’s still weird.
The band just shared the video for the album’s opening track, “Autumn,” and if you caught their video for “Time Between,” you’ll see that “Autumn” is a stark contrast. Where “Time Between” was a celebration of New York City’s late-night weirdos in colorful clarity, “Autumn” is static. As in literal static.
The song begins with noise set to a driving drum beat before opening up into catchy psychedelic rock. The video is a lo-fi, pencil-drawn world of squiggles and static. It’s Bear In Heaven navigating digital squalor and a completely accurate representation of the psychedelic tunes they are known produce.
Be sure to catch Bear In Heaven when they play at The Echoplex on September 2nd!
