Voices of LA’s concert series has been one of our favorite things about Summer 2014 for several reasons, two of which will be teaming up for a show at La Plaza de Cultura y Artes later this month: La Santa Cecilia & Yuval Ron Ensemble!

Lead by vocalist La Marisoul, GRAMMY-winning band La Santa Cecilia is named after the patron saint of musicians, and the four-piece from East LA draws from some of the best for their uniquely modern take on Latin culture, rock, and world music. A perfect example is their recently released cover of The Beatles’ “Strawberry Fields Forever.”

If you like music that hits you on a deeper, more spiritual level, you’re going to love Yuval Ron Ensemble. The internationally renowned music and dance group’s leader brings with him a knowledge of many ethnic musical traditions and spiritual paths, and he was the featured artist in the Gala Concert for the Dalai Lama’s Seeds of Compassion initiative in the Seattle Opera Hall in 2008. That’s right. Even the Dalai Lama digs this guy.

Another reason we’re stoked on this series? All of the events are FREE! All you need to do is RSVP and you’ll be in for a night of diverse music at a fun venue! Hope to see you there!
