A new album from a divisive siren, another full-length from a genre-bending act, and a debut from the Queen of Bounce, this week’s list of new album releases has it all! Check out the new albums that I’m excited to listen to this week below, and be sure to let me know in the comments if I missed a must-hear release.
Big Freedia – Just Be Free
After witnessing the Queen of Bounce’s live show firsthand at The Greek, I can assure you that this diva’s official debut album will be one hell of a good time, full of good vibes and positive messages.
Jaded Inc. – The Big Knock
Mayer Hawthorne joined forces with longtime friend and collaborator 14KT to form Jaded Inc. Their debut album under the moniker, which features all synths and no live instruments, is out today via Casablanca Records/Republic Records.
Lana Del Rey – Ultraviolence
With a sold-out North American tour just wrapped, the “gangsta Nancy Sinatra” releases the follow up to her certified platinum sophomore album, Born To Die, today.
Linkin Park – The Hunting Party
The California-based sextet offers up their sixth studio album featuring their unique blend of electronic, rock, and hip-hop music
Nightmares On Wax – N.O.W. Is The Time
Warp Records trip-hop pioneer releases a 2-disc “best of” album today, following it up with a show at The Fonda Theatre here in LA on Sunday, which we just so happen to be giving away two pairs of tickets to!
The Antlers – Familiars
Indie-rock trio The Antlers release their fifth full-length album of lush tracks today, and if you’re a fan of the Brooklyn-based band, hopefully you’ve already picked up your tickets to one of their two sold-out shows at The Troubadour in July.
Tiësto – A Town Called Paradise
This may be the electronic dance music trendsetter’s fifth full-length album, but it marks his first on a major label (Casablanca Records/Republic Records/Musical Freedom).
