If you’ve never seen an OK Go music video, I’m guessing you’re either blind or have never heard of this thing called, uh, the internet. The group revolutionized the music video, making the most memorable, creative, and inventive pieces since “Thriller.”

Beyond their stellar work as visual artists, the members of OK Go are incredible musicians (they are a band, after all), but their music tends to get overshadowed by their videos, which isn’t really fair. Stylistically, their music ranges from bouncy indie rock to straight-up stank-nasty funk! Their last album, Of the Blue Colour of the Sky, brought in a heavy Prince and P-Funk influence, resulting in dance anthems that delivered both lyrical depth and musical brilliance.

Over four years later, OK Go is preparing to release their follow-up, titled Hungry Ghosts. Surely, there will be larger tours to follow — the band could easily fill The Palladium — but isn’t it more fun to play smaller venues that sell out in seconds and where everyone is a sweaty, dancing mess and it smells like spilt beer and whiskey? Yes. Trust me. The answer is yes.

On July 22nd and 23rd, OK Go will will play The Troubadour and The Echo, respectively. The chance to see this band in such intimate quarters is an unforgettable opportunity. Tickets for their Tuesday show go on sale at 1pm today, and the Wednesday show still has some tickets available, so grab them while you can!
