HARD Summer, perhaps Southern California’s most anticipated summer dance music festival outside of Electric Daisy Carnival, released its 2014 lineup yesterday, and that sucker is huge. Granted, five stages set up in South El Monte’s Whittier Park Recreation Area for these artists to spread across over August 2-3 is generous, but I’m still having a hard time imagining how — and more importantly, how awesomely — they’re going to manage.
Watch the official trailer featuring Skrillex and Diplo, aka festival headliners Jack U, as well as other faces even the casual dance music fan might recognize:
You don’t get much bigger names in EDM than Nero, Dillon Francis, Tiësto, Martin Garrix, A-Trak, DESTRUCTO — hell, I just jumped on this bandwagon and even I recognize half the names in this lineup. (Forgive me. I was from Cleveland. I knew not what I did.) In fact, my old ass is a little concerned that I might not be able to hang for two straight days of earth-shattering bass and sweat and screaming. Let’s hope the next few months serves as a warm-up, and let this be the permission I need to invest in a higher-quality pair of leather shorts.
