NO lead

One of my favorite singles of 2014 so far has been “Leave The Door Wide Open,” the opening track off recent LA Music Blogcast guests NO’s debut album, El Prado, and last week the group released a Magritte-inspired music video for the song.

Set against the backdrop of an LA record store (the kind that sells primarily out-of-print vinyl) and bar (the kind where everyone seems to know everyone except you), the video perfectly suits the mood of isolation found in the emotional rock track, mostly thanks to a quiet but layered performance by the lead actor, plus the inclusion of a whole lot of canvas sacks.

Check out NO’s video for “Leave The Door Wide Open” below, and if you haven’t listened to El Prado in full yet, get on it as the album is an early frontrunner for inclusion on 2014’s year-end “Best of” lists.
