I have to admit, the Super Bowl is my favorite American holiday. It’s non-religious, it brings people together, and you are traditionally supposed to drink beer until you forget why you are drinking beer.
Even though my 49ers didn’t make it (and yes, I wanted the Denver Peyton Mannings to win), I still love watching the game for a good competition, ridiculous commercials, and the always over-done halftime show.
But let’s be honest…XLVIII was the worst Super Bowl in recent history. One of the only redeeming factors was halftime. Bruno Mars nailed that halftime show. His band’s dancing alone was enough to call it awesome. The Red Hot Chili Peppers definitely held their own. Also, 3 points for Chad Smith’s Super Bowl stick!
I have two favorite halftime shows: Michael Jackson and Prince, two of the most amazing performers of all time who both put on incredible shows. I mean, Prince is so amazing he actually made it rain while playing “Purple Rain.” If that doesn’t make for a god-like performance, I don’t know what does. Here is a list of my favorite Super Bowl halftime shows of all time.
