While some Angelenos believe the Sunset Strip’s heyday has long since past, with only washed up ’80s and ’90s acts playing at the House of Blues, shitty metal bands at The Viper Room, and tribute bands at The Whiskey, lucky for us, The Roxy has decided to prove those naysayers wrong by hosting a few two-night performances from some very well respected talent.

LA’s Capital Cities was one of the biggest debut acts of 2013. Their music was heard everywhere from commercials to grocery stores. The video for “Safe and Sound” was nominated for a GRAMMY. LAmb’s Megan Driscoll even went so far as to cover two of their 2013 performance, a headlining show at The Observatory in Santa Ana for New Year’s Eve and a support slot at The Greek Theatre with Two Door Cinema Club.

To follow up such a huge year, you’d think Capital Cities would headline someplace like The Wiltern or The Hollywood Palladium, right? Nope. Time for the credibility gig. Capital Cities is headlining two shows at The Roxy on February 28th and March 1st. If you thought their huge shows last year were awesome, check them out up-close and personal in a historic venue.

The Roxy is doing this same two-night event with a few other bands as well. 311 will be performing there just a few short days after Capital Cities, and in April The Dandy Warhols will play two nights as well. Tickets go on sale for all these shows tomorrow, February 14th, and they are all worth refreshing the Goldenvoice ticket page at 10AM.
