Need some suggestions for where to rock out this month? LA’s got you more than covered.

For Hardcore & Heavy Metal Fans:

Society 1 – January 15th at House of Blues (Sunset Strip | Parish Room)

A staple in the Los Angeles metal circuit, Society 1 is unleashing new material on fans in 2014 as well as a revamped live show that promises to keep Lord Zane and company at the forefront of the LA industrial scene.

Cattle Decapitation – January 12th at Los Globos

I know that EYEHATEGOD is the headliner, but Cattle Decapitation is the not-to-miss band on this bill.

Metal Masters 5 – January 22nd at House of Blues (Anaheim)

Featuring “Masters”: Philip Anselmo (Pantera, Down), Kerry King and Gary Holt (Slayer), Charlie Benante and Frank Bello (Anthrax), David Ellefson and Chris Broderick (Megadeth), Billy Sheehan and Mike Portnoy (The Winery Dogs), and Rex Brown (Pantera, Kill Devil Hill)

Stick To Your Guns – January 24th at Nitty Gritty (Rancho Cucamonga)

For More of a Scene:

Bury the Hatchet Tour feat. Falling In Reverse + Escape the Fate – January 15th at the Wiltern Theater

The 2014 Bury the Hatchet Tour marks the first time Escape the Fate and former singer Ronnie Radke (now fronting Falling In Reverse) will share the stage under one united bill. Promoters are obviously capitalizing on the public drama between these two bands, but Escape the Fate’s graduation to a more mature, hard-rock style is why this show is making the list.

We Came As Romans – January 17th at House of Blues (Sunset Strip)

This one’s for you if you like A Day to Remember or Asking Alexandria (and don’t mind a bit of scene metal). Bonus: You can enter to win tickets to this show on the LAmb.

Worth the Drive:

Skillet w/ We As Human – January 17th at the Honda Center (Anaheim)

One of the most underrated live acts in hard rock and metal, Skillet is worth the drive to Anaheim.

For Fun:

The Iron Maidens – January 18th at the Viper Room

The world’s only all-female Iron Maiden tribute band will pack the Viper Room with LA’s new and old-school rockers. For a shameless night of shots and rock ‘n roll, don’t miss this party.

Guitar Center’s Drum-Off Finals Featuring Chad Smith, Steve Ferrone, Ray Luzier, Chris Dave and the Drumhedz + more – January 18th at Club Nokia

Not a traditional rock or metal show but arguably the best gathering of rock and metal musicians this month outside of NAMM.
