Vanaprasta

Although the band’s debut album, Healthy Geometry, may have slipped under many people’s radars, it’s safe to assume that Echo Park-based five-piece indie outfit Vanaprasta is doing everything it can to put itself in the public eye.

The simplest way to do this, of course, is to just write really good songs that people are going to notice. To that end, “NYF” is a very promising start. Armed with pristine homemade production and affecting vocals courtesy of Steven Wilkin, Vanaprasta is certainly proving to be a band worth keeping an eye on over the next twelve months.

Vanaprasta’s burgeoning live reputation will no doubt be boosted by this month’s residency at the Bootleg Theater. The band is giving you four chances to catch them in January, so there’s no excuse to miss them.

The last date of this residency (January 27th) sees them sharing the stage with Dear Boy, so you have an opportunity to see two bands we have chosen as Featured Artists within the last month. Keep your eyes peeled for a confirmation of that second Vanaprasta album in the next few months.
