Earlier this month, Thirty Seconds to Mars gave 17,000+ fans a sneak peek of their newest music video for “City of Angels” at their concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Being a transplant from the East Coast, I couldn’t help but tear up as I watched this poignant short film describing the incredibly inspiring, sometimes terrifying, always exciting experience that is living in Los Angeles.
Today the group released the “City of Angels” short film documentary worldwide via VEVO. The video includes true stories about “the land of the stars” and features a cast of renowned celebrities including Kanye West, James Franco, Lindsay Lohan, Juliette Lewis, Selena Gomez, and Olivia Wilde, as well as struggling artists chasing the dream.
“City of Angels” is the second single from Thirty Seconds To Mars’ fourth album, Love, Lust, Faith + Dreams, and the accompanying short film follows the band’s commitment to high-quality, creative videos.
“City Of Angels is a short film about this wild, weird, and wonderful land, Los Angeles, California,” said the filmmaker and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto. “It’s a place that has left its mark on the world’s imagination and a place where dreams can actually come true. It’s not so much about this particular city but more about the people who inhabit it. This is for the dreamers who know that sometimes the impossible is indeed possible.”
