Things can get surreal pretty quickly living in LA. Was that the daughter from Modern Family in line in front of me at Target? Did I just see Jay Leno getting some froyo at Menchies? Last night’s taping of the LA Music Blogcast on TradioV was one such experience with Everclear frontman Art Alexakis stopping by to chat with our hosts David “DJ” Fisch and Mikiel Houser. I must’ve listened to my copy of Sparkle and Fade a million times growing up, and there I was, chilling on a couch in the green room with Art Alexakis, talking about everything from old books to Christmas trees. Surreal doesn’t begin to describe it.
Prior to Art taking his place in front of the TradioV cameras, LA local Austin Hartley-Leonard, better know as the man behind Broken Anchor, stopped by to talk to the guys about his upcoming West Coast shows, plans for new releases, and why he decided to scale back from having a band to having a laptop. After a captivating acoustic performance from Austin, Art filled us in on his upcoming One Night With Everclear concert benefitting The Pasadena Playhouse’s Wells Fargo Theatrical Diversity Project. This unique concert event will take place this Monday, October 14, at 8:00 PM, and tickets are still available (though I wouldn’t wait too long to pull the trigger on this one).
