Two Door Cinema Club – Friday, November 1, 2013 – Fox Theater – Tickets
One lucky reader to this blog will be joining Two Door Cinema Club tomorrow for their show at Fox Theater — what about you? These Irish indie rockers play the kind of catchy, riff-heavy tunes that will have you quickly dancing along. Already at work on their third studio album, Two Door Cinema Club’s Friday show will be the perfect occasion to test run some of the band’s new material.
Janelle Monáe – Saturday, November 2, 2013 – Club Nokia – Tickets
The “Electric Lady” herself, Janelle Monáe takes the stage at Club Nokia this Saturday night. She is one of today’s most groundbreaking funk and R&B acts, and this year saw the release of her sophomore album, Electric Lady, on which she has teamed up with the likes of Erykah Badu and Miguel to create some beautiful music. Though her music borrows from the soulful roots of R&B, Monáe is undoubtedly making the music of tomorrow — her robotic musical textures and avant garde whimsy create a futuristic air all their own.
