From the looks of things, this week is a bit light on notable full-length album releases but a couple of EPs from local favorites more than make up it! California rock band releases their ninth studio album, an effort described by frontman Davey Havok to Rolling Stone as being “very layered and very rich.”
Best Coast – Fade Away EP
Local garage rock duo releases seven-song EP, the first effort off frontwoman Bethany Cosentino’s Jewel City label.
Brett Dennen – Smoke and Mirrors
NorCal folk-pop singer/songwriter releases his fifth full-length today, just in time to soundtrack any warm autumn day trips to the beach.
Dresses – Sun Shy (physical)
Newly signed to LA’s own SideOneDummy Records, Portland, OR duo Dresses offers up a physical release of their Sun Shy full-length today.
Katy Perry – Prism
Pop sensation Katy Perry attempts to stay on top of the Top 40 game with her follow-up to 2010′s Teenage Dream.
MEN – Labor
Musician/DJ/producer JD Samson’s Brooklyn-based band and art/performance collective releases its sophomore effort today.
Motorhead – Aftershock
English rock band releases its 21st(!) studio album, produced by Cameron Webb.
Poliça – Shulamith
Minneapolis indie-pop band drops their sophomore album and first since signing to Mom + Pop Music.
Ryan Hemsworth – Guilt Trips
Canadian DJ and producer releases his solo debut album today via Last Gang.
The Vim Dicta – Von Tango EP
