It’s a big week for alt-rock legends Jane’s Addiction as the band will be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this Wednesday, October 30th. The star will be located at 6436 Hollywood Blvd, and the group will be inducted by The Door’s John Densmore and Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins.
Jane’s Addiction is no stranger to the ups and downs of rock n’ roll. The group formed here in Los Angeles back in 1985 with original members Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, bassist Eric Avery, and percussionist Stephen Perkins. The band initially broke up in 1991 after notably headlining the first Lollapalooza festival, and though they’ve broken up several times since, they once again came back together in 2008, and 2013 saw the 25th anniversary of their debut release, Nothing’s Shocking.
The current incarnation of Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins, and Chris Chaney spent this past summer touring with contemporaries Alice in Chains on the Rockstar Uproar Festival. The band will be playing a couple of upcoming shows here in Southern California this week, one of which will feature the now-foursome taking the outdoor stage of Jimmy Kimmel Live to celebrate their induction into the Walk of Fame.
