How we managed to pack so much excellence into a single hour of LA Music Blogcast last night is beyond me, but magical things can happen when you mix talented, friendly artists, inquisitive hosts, and beer. Lots and lots of beer.

For the first time since moving to a one-hour format, our hosts David “DJ” Fisch and Mikiel Houser were joined by not one, but TWO guests on this week’s episode, so if you were hoping for some FYF Fest recapage (totally a word) or VMA commentary (oh, Miley), you’ll have to watch next Thursday’s show. This week was all about local alt-rock/pop act Dear Boy and island-influenced rockers Pepper!

Both bands have been busy, busy, busy. Dear Boy’s debut EP will be released on September 10th, and I highly recommend you head out to their FREE record release show at the Bootleg on Monday, September 9th (the first date of a month-long residency at the venue), while Pepper will be releasing their new self-titled album this Tuesday, September 3rd, before heading out on tour. Fans here in SoCal, however, can catch a performance TOMORROW at the Shoreline Jam at Queen Mary Park in Long Beach!

Check out the full recording of last night’s Blogcast below, and be sure to tune in to TradioV LA next Thursday at 8PM when local hard rockers Mesia will be stopping by!

You can now download the audio-only versions of the LA Music Blogcast on iTunes!
