Sugar-sweet noise pop duo Cults premiered a fresh track on NPR’s “All Songs Considered” this week. “I Can Hardly Make You Mine” is slightly more subdued than some of the group’s previous work (see “Abducted” and “Rave On”), instead proving to be more in line with their previous hit “Go Outside,” albeit with a stronger beat.
The new track maintains Cult’s ’60s-inspired rock-pop aesthetic and continues to feature Madeline Follin’s trademark effervescent, saccharine vocals. It is also fans’ first taste of Cults’ sophomore album, Static, which drops on October 15th.
