Sometimes living in Los Angeles we have tough choices to make, like which EP we should listen to on the 10-minute drive to the beach. Such tasks could be quite daunting. But I have good news! New York’s own Drowners have made that EP, and you can listen to it twice in 10 minutes.

Between Us Girls should definitely be listened to while riding in a convertible. With catchy pop melodies and bouncy beach rhythms, Drowners have a carefree style that almost forces you to dance like you are at a 1960s beach party. Their video for “Long Hair” is shot with a gritty handheld camera and might actually be found footage from 1989. Either way, the song is awesome and the video makes me want to jump into water.

Drowners will be opening up for Foals at the Wiltern on August 9th. They are sure to be fun live and will be a perfect complement to the UK disco punk headliner. If you haven’t seen Foals in concert, do yourself a favor and check this show out! After seeing Foals at El Rey¬†earlier this year, I can only imagine the kind of show they put on at a larger venue. Drowners will be a perfect opener and will hopefully be back in LA soon.
