I feel like I say this every week, but last night’s episode of the LA Music Blogcast was one of the best ever. Not only did we get to enjoy a multi-segment battle royale between hosts David “DJ” Fisch and Mikiel Houser regarding the awesomeness/not-awesomeness of the new Kanye West album, we were also treated to visits by a duo of local duos.

Our first guests, The Reflections (Darian Zahedi and Jon Safley), have been a longtime favorite of the LAmb. Writer Angelica Corona interviewed the band back in March, just two months prior to the release of their debut album, Limerence, and last night they played a few songs from the album for us, as well as offered up a bit of insight into that intriguing album name.

Our second duo, Figs Vision, a musical collaboration between Jordan Spoliansky and Gunner Sixx, not only brought along their full band for a performance that pushed the limits of the TradioV studio (but that sounded amazing), they also arrived with one of the cutest puppies ever in tow (seriously, she was adorable). The band chatted with David and Mike about the inspiration behind the band name and their plans for the future, which includes a show at The Joint on July 10th.

Check out the full episode below, and be sure to watch the LA Music Blogcast next week from 8-10pm when we’ll be joined by musical guests Nico Vega and Terraplane Sun!
