Summer is finally here! Being the music junkie that I am, I remember the majority of my summers by the music I listened to and the bands I discovered during them. Setting the soundtrack to summer this weekend in Los Angeles are several fantastic live music options.
Black Lips, an all-American band from Atlanta, is coming to the West Coast this weekend to headline the Jubilee Music and Arts Festival on Friday. The first time I saw Marcus Schossow was in Prague, and I was struck by his incredible energy. He was beaming throughout the entire show and hitting every beat with his fingers. Since then, this Swedish DJ/producer has found worldwide fame with both original productions and remixes. Be sure and snag your $20 tickets now!
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers @ The Fonda – Saturday & Sunday, June 8th-9th – SOLD OUT
If you were lucky enough to score tickets to this show, you’re in for a real treat. One of America’s greatest rock and roll bands is playing both Saturday and Sunday at the fairly intimate venue of The Fonda Theatre (formerly known as the Music Box). Even though tickets are sold out, I wouldn’t be too quick to give up on catching one of their two performances in their secondary hometown.
