Though much of my Memorial Day weekend will be spent celebrating my husband’s birthday with a marathon viewing of Arrested Development: Season 4 on Netflix, I can always find time for live music, and this weekend boasts some really great shows. Check out just a few of your many concert options in LA this weekend, and be sure to let me know in the comments where you’ll be getting your live music fix!
Cold War Kids @ The Fonda Theatre – Friday, May 24th, 2013 – SOLD OUT
Long Beach’s Cold War Kids worked their way to the top of my list of favorite bands not with a single stellar album, but with a consistent output of solid releases topped off by this year’s Dear Miss Lonelyhearts. I’ve now seen the band live three times, and each performance was better than the last, so consider yourself lucky if you can score tickets to this sold-out show.
Fleetwood Mac @ The Hollywood Bowl – Saturday, May 25th, 2013 – Tickets
Now midway through the North American portion of their 66-date world tour, Fleetwood Mac has no doubt shaken off any cobwebs that may have formed since their last run of dates in 2009, so now is the perfect time to see them live. Just last month the group released an EP of new material exclusively on iTunes, so if you are heading out to the show, give Extended Play a listen first so you’ll be able to sing along.
Haunted Summer @ The Echo – Sunday, May 26th, 2013 – Tickets
Haunted Summer will be joining Ben Gill and David Fisch on tonight’s episode of the LA Music Blogcast (tune in to TradioV LA at 8PM to watch the show LIVE), and if you like what you hear from this Los Angeles-based act tonight, be sure to head out to The Echo Sunday night to catch their first show with full band.
