Let the summer concert announcements continue! While we here in LA enjoy summer weather nearly year-round, our friends in New York City embrace their shorter summer season with plenty of outdoor concerts, and NBC’s Today Show recently announced the 2013 lineup for their 18th-annual concert series, which will kick off Friday, May 24, with Grammy-winning indie pop band fun. and wrap up in August with a performance by Chris Brown.

The Today Show’s yearly Toyota Concert Series takes over the Rockefeller Plaza every Friday through the warm summer months and features free live performances by some of the most popular artists. Past acts have included Lady Gaga, Aerosmith, Matchbox 20, Jason Mraz, and Justin Bieber.


This year, multiple bands will make repeat performances, including Train, 98 Degrees, Lionel Richie, and One Direction, who drew a record-breaking crowd of 15,000 at their 2012 performance. Check out this summer’s lineup and get your DVRs ready!
