Ah summertime — the warm weather, the cookouts, the long hours of sunlight, and best of all, the amazing festivals! KROQ has announced their 2013 Weenie Roast lineup, and it features some huge acts. It’s hard to imagine all these bands will be packed into one day, but this is the 20th anniversary of the festival, so it’s no surprise KROQ is pulling out all the stops for this summer kick-off.

KROQ is bringing some of the best acts in the nation to Los Angeles to celebrate their twentieth anniversary and start summer with a bang. The Black Keys will headline this year’s Weenie Roast at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, CA along with Thirty Seconds to Mars and Vampire Weekend.

The festival always draws an eclectic mix of acts, ranging from rock to punk to pop, and supporting acts include Silversun Pickups, Jimmy Eat World, Of Monsters and Men, Imagine Dragons, AWOLNATION, Atlas Genius, C2C, Fitz & the Tantrums, The Neighbourhood (my local favorites), Capital Cities, New Politics, and Twenty One Pilots.

Tickets are available only through Ticketmaster and the presale for KROQ Street Team members’ tickets begins today (Friday, May 3rd) at noon. The festival benefits the Surfrider Foundation and Heal the Bay.

So let’s review: amazing music and guilty-pleasure festival food all in the name of summer and benefiting charities? Count me in. See you in the pit!
