To complement the great weather this weekend are a variety of fun musical events in the LA area. If you’re not heading out to Coachella’s second weekend, here’s a few local shows to fill your weekend with music!
Incredibly talented singer/songwriter/record producer Keyshia Cole will be bringing her soulful music to Club Nokia Friday night. This is a great show to catch with a group of friends or to enjoy with a date as rhythm and blues takes over this beautiful downtown venue.
Cleverly playing off of Coachella, Brokechella is also a music festival with food, art, music, and drinks, but the major difference is the cost of admission: only $10 instead of the whopping $350 for a Coachella ticket. With three stages and tons of local talent, Brokechella promises to be a fun and economical way to enjoy some new tunes with a gang of friends.
Tinariwen, a band comprised of poet-guitarists from the Southern Sahara desert, will be bringing their uplifting melodies with a distinct ethnic sounds to Hollywood, and what better place to see them than in a cemetery? Bandleader Ibrahim Ag Alhabib fashioned his own guitar out of bicycle parts and a tin can, so you can just imagine the passion that these gentleman will be bringing to their show on Sunday.
