Since gas is oh so affordable right now (when are we going to officially pick a sarcasm font?), for this Weekend Jumpstart, I thought I’d send you all across the greater Los Angeles area to score your music fix. From the Sunset Strip, to WeHo, to Silverlake, great music is being played in all corners of LA this weekend, so check out just a few of your options below, and be sure to let me know in the comments what shows you’ll be seeing this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!
Back Pocket Memory @ The Viper Room – Friday, February 22, 2013 – Tickets
If you’re a fan of the rock (music, not this guy), LA Music Blog favorites Back Pocket Memory are set to play the notorious Viper Room tomorrow night alongside Viza, Day Above Ground, Help The Doctor, and illFX. Tickets are sold out online, but the band does have a handful of physical tickets left or you might be able to snag one at the door the night of show. Either way, you’ll want to be there as Back Pocket Memory is set to debut new music at the show.
Ozma @ The Troubadour – Saturday, February 23, 2013 – Tickets
For more than a decade, Ozma has been regaling fans with their Casiotone-driven power-pop songs that featured pop-culture references to everything from Mario and Luigi to Back to the Future. This is another show that is nearing sold-out status, so you’ll want to pick up tickets now before it’s too late and you end up stuck at home playing Legend of Zelda all by yourself Saturday night in homage to Ozma.
The Reflections @ The Satellite – Sunday, February 24, 2013 – FREE
If all that gas money has left you strapped for cash, you can head out to the Satellite Sunday night for the last of the Reflections free February residency shows. $2 well drinks & PBR from 8-9pm, so scrounge up some couch cushion change and prepare for a night of chillwave-influenced indie pop to wrap-up the weekend.
