I’m particularly excited about two of today’s releases, but that’s not to discount the other efforts on the following list of albums hitting shelves today. Check out the full list below (as well as our playlist on Cred.FM featuring videos from all ten releases!), and be sure to let me know in the comments what you’ll be listening to today!
Tegan And Sara – Heartthrob
Since first hearing “Closer” back in September, I’ve been looking forward to the release of this, Tegan and Sara’s seventh studio album. The track is super fun, catchy, and arguably the duo’s most radio-friendly single to date, so I’m excited to hear what the rest of the album sounds like.
Local Natives – Hummingbird
Sophomore albums don’t get any more highly anticipated than this. Gorilla Manor was possibly THE debut album of 2010, and now Local Natives is back (sans bassist Andy Hamm) with that album’s follow-up. I’ve only heard two tracks from Hummingbird thus far — “Breakers” and “Heavy Feet” — and they’ve done nothing to lessen my anticipation for the album in full.
The Ruby Suns – Christopher
Christopher marks the Ruby Suns’ fourth album and their third for legendary label Sub Pop Records. The video for album track “Kingfisher Call Me” is a weird, woodsy visual experience that features a man that looks just like I imagine Mose Schrute on The Office would if he didn’t have Dwight looking out for him for about 6 months (you be the judge). It’s a super odd video, but one that has definitely piqued my interest for the album.
