All week the album announcements have been rolling in with the force of a tsunami (Ben and David will be sharing more details on those tonight on the LA Music Blogcast on TradioV, live from 7-9pm), but the one that has me the most excited is Iron and Wine. I’ve admitted to tearing up while listening to Sam Beam perform “Naked As We Came” at The Wiltern the same day his fourth full-length, Kiss Each Other Clean, was released in 2011, and now that album’s follow-up, Ghost On Ghost, has been confirmed for an April 16th US release date.
The album announcement also includes a new track from Iron and Wine, “Lovers’ Revolution,” a jazzy, horn-infused song that only increases my anticipation for this new release. Honestly, Iron and Wine has never let me down before, continuing to evolve with each album while never straying too far from their core sound, and if you get a chance to catch the band live, take it because performances as emotionally and sonically riveting as Iron and Wine’s are truly rare.
