It has been quite a year for Death Grips. They signed to Epic Records following the buzz around last year’s mixtape, Ex-Military, and then released one of the albums of the year in the form of the ferocious The Money Store. The experimental hip-hop group then dropped a second album online for free (No Love Deep Web, if anything an even more intense experience), which eventually killed their relationship with Epic and resulted in them being dropped from the label.

Goodness knows what comes next for the band, but in the immediate future, there is a Los Angeles headline show, which their fans here have been waiting for all year (a July date was pushed back due to work on No Love Deep Web). Demand for advance tickets meant the show was an almost-immediate sellout, but apparently there will be a limited number of tickets available at the door for the Echoplex show this Thursday, December 6th. Considering the magnitude of the impact Death Grips has had on the music landscape in the last twelve months, I would either get there early, or be prepared to beg, steal, or indulge in another kind of activity I cannot legally suggest in order to get a ticket.

Here’s the brain-frazzling video for “I’ve Seen Footage” to give you some idea of what to expect:
