We’re back with more free tickets! After being one of the lucky few to see Father John Misty in ninety degree weather while crammed into Origami Vinyl with limited ventilation and an unimpressive display of my peers’ use of deodorant, El Rey Theatre seems like an oasis of a venue in which to catch the wondrous folk band, and lucky you! We’re giving away a pair of tickets to the show.

I’m going to make this statement, and then I’m going to quickly duck for cover. I’m not a Fleet Foxes fan. I’m sorry, I know, I’ve tried, but for some reason I just haven’t been able to get into their music. Perhaps I haven’t listened well enough, and I keep their albums because I’m sure that down the road I’ll give them another listen, but from what I’ve heard so far? Not my thing. That being said, I was completely unaware that when I heard the overwhelmingly seductive “Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings” that I was listening to the product of former Fleet Foxes drummer J. Tillman’s newest solo project. His album Fear Fun quickly made it’s way to my favorite album of 2012.

Father John Misty will be headlining the climate-controlled El Rey Theatre on December 29th at 8pm. Opening for them will be Icy Demons (See? See what they did there?), another Los Angeles-based group that delves into a funky, atmospheric, alternative experience. All you have to do to enter is comment down below, and don’t forget to provide an email you check frequently. If you don’t want to leave your Father John Misty experience up to chance, tickets are still available for the show.
