Ben Gibbard played two shows in LA in support of his recently released solo album, Former Lives, and you know LA Music Blog couldn’t resist attending both (I reviewed Gibbard’s September performance at Largo at the Coronet myself, and Angelica caught his set at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre earlier this month). However, if you weren’t lucky enough to make it out to one of the Death Cab for Cutie/The Postal Service frontman’s solo dates, fret not, because NPR is bringing a little taste of the shows to you.
For the 250th installment of NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts series, Ben Gibbard performs three tracks in a very similar fashion to his recent slew of live shows: just Gibbard, an acoustic guitar, and that unmistakeable voice. Enjoy “St. Peter’s Cathedral,” “Teardrop Windows,” and “When The Sun Goes Down On Your Street” below, and be sure to check out Former Lives if you haven’t already.
