Are you as excited about the January 29th release of Local Natives’ sophomore album as I am? The LA band’s debut Gorilla Manor was one of my most-played albums of 2010, and it seems like Hummingbird just can’t get here soon enough. To keep us from pulling out our (ironic facial) hair, the band released a video for “Breakers,” the first single off the album, today.
Directed by Jaffe Zinn and Local Natives themselves, the video made its debut on Pitchfork, and I honestly don’t know how guitarist Taylor Rice made it through the filming without breaking a bone or two. I think I bruised an elbow just watching the poor guy tumble down all those stairs. After just one viewing, I’m not sure I entirely “get” the video yet, but oh no! I guess that means I’ll just have to watch it again and again and again…is it January 29th yet?
