Big Boi, the Southern playalistic ATLien himself, has released the first video from his upcoming solo album, Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors, which is due out on December 11th via Def Jam/Purple Ribbon. Originally scheduled for November 13th, two days before that release date the album was unexpectedly pushed back a month. If you have followed Big Boi’s solo career, you might be having some feelings of déjà vu seeing as his last solo album, Sir Lucious Left Foot, was delayed in this fashion for two years. Originally supposed to come out in ’08, we didn’t end up hearing that one until 2010, but then again, we never got a video with Sir Lucious Left Foot either.

Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors sees Big Boi (as always) experimenting with melodic hip-hop and the funk-hop sound that Outkast pioneered while still reaching out to reflect the local contemporary sounds of the ATL. The album features guest appearances from Sleepy Brown, T.I., Ludacris, Kid Cudi, Little Dragon, Killer Mike, Kelly Rowland, A$AP Rocky, B.o.B, Wavves(!?!), and UGK, to name just a few.

You can also check out the first single from Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors, “Lines” featuring A$AP Rocky and Phantogram, on Big Boi’s Soundcloud page, and be sure to preorder Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors.
