After Pennywise announced in 2009 that frontman Jim Lindberg would be leaving the punk rock band after 20 years, nine albums, and thousands of shows together, fans were no doubt worried about the future of the group. When Lindberg went on to form The Black Pacific and the band replaced him with Zoli Teglas from Orange County, CA hardcore band Ignite, it seemed Pennywise was permanently altered. However, yesterday morning Lindberg was joined by Pennywise guitarist Fletcher Dragge on KROQ’s Kevin & Bean Show to announce that the band would be reuniting and celebrating with a show in January!

Pennywise had this to say about Lindberg’s return: “We’re happy to announce that Jim is rejoining Pennywise and we’re all looking forward to playing music together again. We’re going to celebrate our re-union with a show at the Hollywood Palladium January 18th to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Pennywise for our friends and fans in L.A.” Pennywise will be joined by Lagwagon, Strung Out, and Pulley for the Palladium performance, so this is definitely a must-see show for any fan of mohawks, circle pits, and melodic punk rock.

Tickets for this special show will go on sale this Friday, November 2nd, at 10:00 am with a special pre-sale for KROQ Street Team members taking place tomorrow, October 31st, from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm.
