Hard to pick a personal most anticipated album from today’s new releases, but check out the ten efforts that have me the most excited on this New Album Release Tuesday, and be sure to let me know in the comments what you’ll be listening to today!
Bat for Lashes – The Haunted Man
This, the third album from Natasha Khanone, likely marks the music world’s most anticipated release of the day. I absolutely loved “Laura,” the first released track from the album, but wasn’t certain how I felt about the second, “All Your Gold,” so I’m excited to hear them both within the context of the full album today.
Kendrick Lamar – good kid, m.A.A.d City
Lamar’s single “Swimming Pools (Drank)” is a favorite of LAmb writer David Fisch, as discussed in the fourth episode of the LA Music Blog Podcast. The album is already close on Taylor Swift’s heels for the #1 spot on iTunes, and I’m sure we can expect a full review of this one from David shortly.
Gary Clark Jr – Blak & Blu
After hitting the festival circuit so hard this summer, you’d think it owed him money, bluesy guitarist/songwriter Gary Clark Jr releases his highly anticipated Warner Bros. Records full-length debut today. Another “Must Hear” release.
Black Moth Super Rainbow – Cobra Juicy
After reading Richie review of Cobra Juicy — an album he says “can have you flying one minute and sinking into your chair the next” — this is definitely one I’ll have to hear for myself.
Diamond Rings – Free Dimensional
LAmb writer John felt like he was enveloped in a “glam-fueled euphoria” when he caught Diamond Rings at Bardot back in August and noted that the artist already had a devout following in LA. With the release of his sophomore album today and his current tour with Stars, I’m interested to see if that devotion will spread to the rest of the country and beyond.
