This week’s new releases are apparently brought to you, in Sesame Street style, by the color yellow. Seriously, there seems to be a fair amount of bright yellow on this page this week. Color issues aside though, this feels like another bumper week of album releases as bands look to get their potential masterpieces out before the quieter Christmas period. Here is just a smattering of this week’s releases:
Tame Impala – Lonerism
The Australian psych rockers have returned with an album that apparently laughs in the face of the sophomore slump. I’ve got it on my list of things to listen to, and so should you. Look out for a review of this one on the LAmb later in the week from David Fisch.
Converge – All We Love We Leave Behind
The first album in three years for the hardcore legends, and safe to say it’s a skull crusher and about as good an album as you’ll hear in its genre all year. We’ll also be reviewing this one here this week.
Ty Segall – Twins
Mr. Segall is back with just his third album of the year so far, all of which have been well received. Personally I think anyone releasing less than six albums a year is bordering on lazy, so he needs to pick up the slack before the holiday season kicks in.
Check out the best of the rest below, and be sure to let us know in the comments what you’ll be listening to today!
Ellie Goulding – Halcyon
Metz – Metz
Naytronix – Dirty Glow
A.C. Newman – Shut Down The Streets
Django Django – Django Django
Lord Huron – Lonesome Dreams
Trash Talk – 119
Kaki King – Glow
